 • what is this?

I don't know whether to take the lack of conversation in these forums as a sign of good outstanding service, so good that no support is even needed, or an extremely small number of customers. Can you help me out? Thanks.

I have been a customer for around 6 months and I have had pretty good results, they even helped me optimize my server to better suit my needs for free.

I haven't needed much support but when I have needed it they have been reasonably responsive.

Darrena can you post your web site or do you know any others hosted by Diginode?

I too am having some questions and maybe as a customer you can answer them?

Where are these guys from? They have a Canadian address but it is a US phone number and I don't like dealing with US anything these days.

Does your server have high uptimes, I noticed a post about DNS problems affecting customers but it seems their own site suffers from similar problems every few weeks with their domains not resolving.

I like everything about these guys so far but the lack of conversation and answers to other posts is worrying :(
Thanks!

So far I have had two periods where DNS problems took my server offline for short periods, outside of that it has been very smooth. I think that in the 6 months I have been with them I have had 4 hours of total downtime. So 4 hours out of 6 months is like 99.01% uptime which is pretty good.

I THINK the servers are colocated with Data Fortress in Canada, the support number has a NY area code but I don't think it is monitored 24/7 since I called it one time and nobody answered. They respond to emails reasonably quick, I don't think I have waited more than a day for a reply and less than an hour or two for critical emails. With previous hosts I have measured the wait in days so I find their response to be pretty good.

When I first setup the account I recieved a call confirming the details and tech support followed up with emails to make sure everything was going well for the first couple of days after I setup the account. They were responsive to questions and very helpfull including helping me optomize the server to support my website.

Speeds have been very good and the flexibility that their system gives me is great just keep in mind that they give you a server and let you manage it yourself. This is great if you want that flexibility but might be a pain if you want a "Set it up and forget it" website. You are probably pretty knowledgable, but I am not sure how much hand-holding they give to those who need a lot of hand holding. They have been so helpfull that I suspect that they would do pretty well with that but I can't speak from experience.

The system is pretty slick it allows you to manage it just as if you were physically at the server.

My site is a message board with around 120 active users that uses about 30 gigs of traffic a month and their service handles it without breaking a sweat. The site is Lair.incessantbabble.com

From previous discussions with them they are flexible if you have needs that require extra ram, disk space etc... They will charge you for it of course but they seem to be fair about it.

I don't know anyone else who hosts with them, you might be able to lookup their assigned netblock with ARIN and see who has sites on that netblock..

They aren't perfect but to get the equivalent service elsewhere would be 5 times the cost and I am pretty happy.

Did that answer your questions?

Thanks for the reply. It was answered quite well. Unfortunately after so many days it appears no one from Diginode is around to answer the question personally :(

I am still on the fence. Again this weekend their own web site was unreachable due to DNS problems, even Netcraft has no uptime data probably because diginode.net (more often than diginode.com) cannot be resolved.

This makes me very paranoid if their own site has constant DNS problems still.

Your site seems pretty smooth but on the night you posted your response it seemed it was having some kind of problems.

It seems they are a small company with average service but the price seems right.

I'll stick around and see if Diginode can respond.

Our main source of pre-sales support is through email at sales@diginode.net. However, we will be revamping forum support soon to address any concerns.
